About us
Our therapists
All of our therapists are qualified and registered with The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). They specialise in a range of methodologies and approaches and have an extensive depth of experiences in the sector.
Our organisation
The Empowerment Group is a registered charity (CIO) in England and Wales: 1190584. The Empowerment Group was founded to provide heavily subsidised therapy services. We cater to adults aged 18+ of a Black African and Caribbean heritage, living in the United Kingdom and exist to improve mental health.
BACP organisational member
The Empowerment Group is an organisational member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Why culturally appropriate therapy?
During the height of the pandemic, our founder decided he wanted to solve a need to a well known ongoing challenge. That of mental health within the Black community. We know both the need and importance of having a therapist who understands your challenges through the eyes of culture and the trauma it may have caused.
We are here to help and empower you with the knowledge and tools to improve your mental wellbeing and your life as a whole.
